Made A List - Checking Things Off

In order to accomplish some of our "summer list," McKell and I decided to take a girls' trip to Salt Lake. Luckily, some other girls we like to spend time with just happened to be there. We started off at the Discovery Gateway.

These five girlies had tons of fun playing, building, discovering:)

Of course while we were at the Gateway, we had to get some shopping time in. Thanks to Allison for letting us stay at her house. McKell had a great time playing, especially with the two dogs.

The next day we went to the zoo.

We saw the new baby elephant. If you look closely you can see her right under her mom.

McKell loved watching the giraffes. This one was supposed to be eating, but instead it was wrapping its tongue around this pole. Crazy and gross.

She went into this little burrow and the prairie dogs were running all around her.

We ended our trip with some more shopping and a stop at Dough Girl cookies. The cookies are absolutely to die for. We get to check off a few more things on our list with this trip and we also saw Karate Kid this weekend. Sadly, I don't know if we will be able to get the entire list completed since there are only about 30 days left until I go back to work and 32 until school starts. We always knew there would be at least 1 thing that wouldn't happen until fall (American Girl store), but we will see what we can do with the rest. Wish me luck or think of me a good lesson to teach McKell about making lists and not completing them if we don't get through everything:)

We went to the zoo last week too! Zuri was really cute. That was a big list to get done...there is always the "Carryover for a rainy day" if you can't get through it!

I like that museum. My kids loved the play store and house stuff on the first level. All of the stuff on the list were good ideas, but not everything is possible. I think the best lesson is that we don't always get what's on our list...or sometimes we have to wait and that's what makes it so special when we finally get to do it.
